1. WHAT IS A COOKIE?

1.1 Definition

A cookie is a text file that may be recorded in a dedicated space on the hard disk of your terminal (the hardware equipment (computer, tablet, smartphone, etc….) that you use to consult or view a site, an application, or advertising content) when you consult an online service using your browser software.

A cookie file allows its issuer to identify the terminal in which it is stored, for the duration of the validity or storage of the cookie.
Cookies are therefore data used by a server to send status information to a user’s browser, and by that browser to send status information back to the originating server. Status information can be, for example, a session ID, language, expiration date, response domain, etc.

1.2 Legal regime

Article 32 of the French Data Protection Act, following the transposition of the first Telecom package by Act No. 2004-669 of 9 July 2004 on electronic communications and audio-visual communication services, requires that each user must be clearly and fully informed of the purpose of each type of cookie and the means available to him or her to oppose their installation.

2. WHAT COOKIES DO WE USE?

We use four main types of cookies, the purposes of which are described below.

2.1 Analytical cookies

These are cookies that enable us to know the use and performance of our site, to establish statistics, volumes of visits and use of the various elements of our site (content visited, path) enabling us to improve the interest and ergonomics of our services (the pages or sections most often consulted, the articles most frequently read, etc.) and to memorise information relating to your browsing preferences (choice of language for example).
On our site, these are cookies placed by copyright.eu on your terminal for navigation, optimisation, and personalisation of our services on the site (these cookies mainly concern our web analytics solutions).

2.2 Session cookies

These are cookies that disappear as soon as the user leaves the site.

2.3 Permanent cookies

These are cookies that remain on the user’s terminal until their lifespan expires or until the user deletes them using the functions of their browser.

The express agreement to the setting of permanent, analytical or session cookies is not compulsory as the data is used for statistical purposes and the information described herein clearly informs about the nature, type and use of cookies.

2.4 Tracking cookies

These are cookies that allow users to be tracked, such as raw attendance data associated with an identifier (an IP address, for example). This information is kept for a maximum of six (6) months, starting from their first insertion, without the possibility of an extension during new visits. After this period, this data is deleted and/or anonymised.

The express agreement to the installation of tracking cookies is not compulsory as we have a system for deleting and/or anonymising the data collected after six (6) months.

The cookies below, relating to advertising and third-party cookies, are not used by the publisher and are indicated for your full information.

2.5 Advertising cookies

Advertising cookies require prior consent from the user (art 32 of the French Data Protection Act).
SETTING COOKIES; Setting cookies allows the user’s consent to be collected. The default settings of Internet browsers are usually set to accept cookies, but you can change this by modifying the settings of your browser. If not set, the browser may provide modules or web platforms that handle consent.

However, please note that if you choose to disable cookies, some parts of our materials may not be accessible.

2.6 Third-party cookies

The issue and use of cookies by third parties are subject to the cookie policies of these third parties. We inform you of the purpose of the cookies of which we are aware and of the means available to you to make choices regarding these cookies. In particular, we are likely to include on our site computer applications from third parties which allow you to share the content of our site with other people or to let these other people know your consultation or your opinion concerning the content of our site. This is particularly the case with the “Share”, “Recommend”, “Tweet”, etc. buttons from social networks such as “Facebook”, “Twitter”, “Pinterest”, and “Google +”. The social network providing such an application button is likely to identify you thanks to this button, even if you did not use this button when visiting our site. Indeed, this type of application button may allow the social network concerned to track your browsing on our site, simply because your account with the social network concerned was activated on your terminal (open session) during your browsing on our site.
We have no control over the process used by social networks to collect information about your browsing on our site and associated with the personal data they hold.

We invite you to consult the privacy protection policies of these social networks to learn about the purposes of use, including advertising, of the browsing information they may collect through these application buttons. These protection policies must allow you to exercise your choices with these social networks, by configuring your user accounts for each of these networks. The third-party cookies issued on our site come from applications integrated into our site, the main ones being Google Analytics (Statistical measurements)

3 – METHODS FOR REFUSING/DELETING COOKIES

The recording of a cookie in a terminal is essentially subject to the will of the user of the terminal, which the latter may express and modify at any time and free of charge.

If you have accepted the storage of cookies on your terminal in your browser software, the cookies integrated into the pages and content that you have consulted may be stored temporarily in a dedicated space on your terminal.

These are the means available to you to accept/refuse or delete the cookies present on our site:

Most browsers accept cookies by default. However, you can decide to block these cookies or ask your browser to warn you when a site tries to implement a cookie on your terminal.
To change your browser’s cookie handling, you can change the settings in the privacy section.
Each browser has a different configuration for managing cookies and your choices. It is described in the help menu of your browser, which will allow you to know how to modify your wishes regarding cookies:
